Software Selection

The Service

ERP.COM's SoftSelect software selection service is a tested process that provides clarity on:
bulletWhat your company requires from new manufacturing software
bulletSpecific software packages that should be considered further
bulletThe value (ROI) of potential improvements
bulletOngoing support, strategies, and tools to select a software solution rapidly

Review of your processes and development of your requirements profile is conducted by experienced consultants. Manufacturing and accounting functions are emphasized, although other major functions also are reviewed relative to their need to interface with the core software solution. We consider your business processes in the context of your entire enterprise over a 3- to 5-year planning horizon, and we focus on areas in which there are larger improvement opportunities and/or significant problems. This work sets the critical foundation for selecting and implementing a new package.

The Deliverables

From this core set of system requirements, SoftSelect screens initial software candidates and provides the Software Selection Report and software tools to facilitate detailed package reviews. This report includes:

bulletTen or more candidate software packages with initial findings highlighted to break out an initial qualified short list. Client-specific software research is included on engagements for firms larger than $50MM.
bulletIf your current manufacturing software is in the SoftSelect database, the Software Selection Report will include information about the latest version of that package.
bulletDetailed strategies on using SoftSelect research for proceeding rapidly to select and implement a system.
bulletDependant upon your package, we also offer a copy of our software, which you can use to manage your requirements profile for submission to candidate vendors and to develop demonstration scripts and implementation specifications. If you are focusing on industry-specific software not listed in the SoftSelect product database, you may work with the SoftSelect team to conduct research on these packages or begin the research on your own.

Improving the Success of Your Project

bulletPeace of mind: Greatly reduced risk in this complex and important work.
bulletThe SoftSelect process is tested, mature, and objective.
bulletRealize significant savings.
bulletCustom requirements profiles, custom reporting, and custom action plans that fit your firm.
bulletVendors are more willing to negotiate with informed buyers.

Already down to a short list of candidates ?    Consider the Software Selection Validation Report:
